It was another great day in Arizona. After an afternoon on Radio Row I was definitely ready to explore Phoenix and it’s surrounding areas. I’ve said it before but the fact that I’m here for the Super Bowl is such an exciting and surreal feeling!
Today we started things off with a few meetings, you know, TKOB! After that it was off to a really cool and fun charity event in Scottsdale called Gaming to Give at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, where the Arizona Diamondbacks have spring training. It was a cool event that had a bunch of NFL players doing what we do best, competing! Only this time instead of competing on the field we competed over video games. We played a Super Smash Brothers tournament! It was a lot of fun and proceeds for the event went to a great cause.
After Gaming to Give it was time to get dressed up (when I say dressed up I mean dressed up Texas style!) and head to a VIP party hosted by the NFLPA. It wouldn’t be Super Bowl week without going to a couple VIP events, right?! I had a great time and it was nice to meet so many players from around the league. I got a lot of great advice from veterans that I plan to apply to my football career both on and off the field.
I can’t wait to see what’s next. It’s been a great week so far and we haven’t even gotten to game day! It really has me motivated to get back to work once all of this is over. Next time I come to the Super Bowl I want to be playing! Stay tuned. I’ll keep you posted on what’s going on in Arizona.
